National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially opened the online application window for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 Session II. Candidates who wish to appear for the April session—whether to improve their Session I scores or as a fresh attempt—can now register on the official portal.The registration for the second session is active from 01 February 2026 and will remain open until 25 February 2026. This session is crucial for students aiming for admissions into B.E./B.Tech, B.Arch, and B.Planning programs at NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs

Application Fee

  • For General, OBC, EWS ₹ 1000/- To 2000/-

    • Cash Card / Mobile Wallet

How To Apply Online

  1. Visit Official Site: Go to jeemain.nta.nic.in.

  2. Select Registration:

    • If Registered in Session I: Log in using your existing Application Number and Password. You only need to choose the papers, medium, city, and pay the fee.

    • If New Candidate: Click on "New Candidate Registration" to generate an Application Number.

  3. Fill Details: Enter personal, academic, and contact details. Ensure your Aadhaar e-KYC is completed as NTA uses this to verify identity.

  4. Upload Documents:

    • Passport-size Photograph (10kb–200kb, white background).

    • Scanned Signature (4kb–30kb).

    • Note: New for 2026, a live photo capture via the browser is mandatory.

  5. Payment: Pay the examination fee via the integrated payment gateway.

  6. Confirmation: Download and save the Confirmation Page for your records.

Important Questions

Question: Do I need to register again if I appeared in Session I? Answer: No. Candidates who already registered for Session I can simply log in with their current credentials and pay the fee for Session II. They do not need to fill in basic details again.
Question: Can I apply for both Paper 1 (B.Tech) and Paper 2 (B.Arch) in Session II? Answer: Yes, candidates can choose to appear for either or both papers by paying the applicable fees.
Question: What if I make a mistake in the form? Answer: NTA will provide a Correction Window in late February. However, specific fields like Mobile Number and Email ID cannot be changed.
Question: Is the Session II exam harder than Session I? Answer: Not necessarily. NTA uses a Normalization Process based on percentile scores to ensure fairness across all shifts and difficulty levels.
