Important Questions

Question: Is there an optional subject in the HPSC HCS 2026 Mains exam? Answer: No. As per the latest pattern, the Optional Subject has been removed. The Mains exam now focuses on 4 General Studies papers along with English and Hindi.
Question: Can candidates from other states apply for HPSC HCS? Answer: Yes, but they will be treated as General (Unreserved) category candidates regardless of their category in their home state.
Question: What are the physical standards for the DSP post? Answer: Male candidates need a height of 170.18 cm (5'7") and chest 33" (unexpanded). Females need a height of 157.50 cm (5'2").
Question: Is the Preliminary exam marks counted for the final merit? Answer: No. The Prelims is a screening test only. The final merit is prepared based on marks obtained in the Mains Exam (600) and Interview (75).
